Inverters are essential for converting Energy from the sun, into a format compatible with home appliances. SMA is recognised as the world leader in Inverter Technology, having received numerous awards over its 30 years in the field.

Inverters are the heart of a Solar Power System, performing complex balancing tasks which enables excess power to be fed back into the Energy Grid safely. An Inverter's performance is often described by its Conversion Efficiency. This refers to its ability to convert as much DC current obtained from Solar Panels, into Household AC current, with the least loss of power during the process.

SMA's range of Inverters are widely recognised for their high efficiency, user-friendliness and durability. Currently accounting for 40% of the world market, SMA Inverters are manufactured in its state-of-the-art production facilities in Germany. These facilities, which cover roughly 18,000 square meters of floor space, received the International Energy Efficiency Award in 2010, for having the lowest energy requirements and highest efficiency rating of any factory of its size in the world.
